about

Matthew Rolin (Ohio USA of Middle Western America) takes a smoke break, breathes out and gives us (we, you, me, the heads) SEA OF STARS. One hetty 40 minute track. A non skipper. A sit down/lay down/take a walker/light jogger/slice o’ life/bags of ice on caffeine free Diet Coke on 4th July stunner.

this effortless psychedelic hum doesn't demand your attention, it passes out in your lap like a feline on melatonin. It the true cry of a Big Mouth Billy Bass, hanging on the wood panels of your Aunt's home. Dusty, soon to live in Tupperware storage. The lumber required for a four seasons porch, waterlogged. The faded minor league baseball team logo on a plastic mug stein. Somebody once had a great night with that thing. Why do candles flicker? why do we have Christmas?

This music goes in and out and gives more than it takes. It sits you down with a dish of werther's caramels while it goes out to blast a pall mall 100. You unwrap each caramel with delight, knowing it will return to put Tyson Chicken nuggets in the oven, which has been pre-heating since the day your light flickered on.

Matthew is putting music out a non stop pace. He’s a glowing lava lamp at Spencer’s gifts, free looks/free spirit. A Louisville slugger right hand, and a left hand thats a scarf smelling of funeral cologne. He sharpens his tools in real time with SEA OF STARS. Vulnerable and honey-like. Sugar tooth souled and loving. Masterful with a fishing rod, pulling out melodies from the bottom of a creek. 40 minutes of 12 strang. 40 divided by 12 is 33 1/3. This album is not available on LP. CD and digital only. But I ain’t here for a math pop quiz I’m here for 40 ounces of lava lamp goo to freedom. Song to me….sing to me. Breathe out.
